Troubleshooting Steps
Have the customer complete all steps in order:
1. Re-pair the Gemini Remote
Follow standard Gemini remote pairing instructions to ensure the remote is properly connected to the device.
2. Restart the Gemini Device
Unplug the Gemini device from power
Wait 30 seconds
Plug the device back in and allow it to fully restart
3. Verify Internet Connectivity
Confirm the internet connection is:
Active
Stable
Not experiencing outages or slow speeds
Voice commands require a working internet connection.
4. Use the Microphone Button Correctly
Press and hold the microphone button while speaking
Do not tap the button briefly, as this will not activate voice commands.
5. Check Android TV Remote App Status
On the Gemini device:
Navigate to Settings
Select Apps
Choose System Apps
Locate Android TV Remote App
Ensure the app is Enabled
⚠️ In some cases, a software glitch may disable this app, which prevents the voice feature from functioning.
Resolution Verification
After completing all steps, have the customer test the voice feature again.
If voice commands respond correctly, the issue is resolved.
