How to Run a Quick Connection Test

What this does

This test checks if your internet connection is stable. It helps us see if your connection is dropping or running normally.

Step 1: Open the test

On Windows

1. Press the Windows key + R
2. Type cmd and press Enter
3. In the black window, type:

ping google.com -n 20

4. Press Enter

On Mac

1. Press Command + Space
2. Type Terminal and open it
3. Type:

ping google.com -c 20

4. Press Enter

Step 2: Let it finish

• This will take about 30 seconds
• You’ll see lines of text appear—that’s normal

Step 3: What to look for

You don’t need to understand everything—just check this:

• If you do NOT see “Request timed out” → your connection looks stable
• If you DO see “Request timed out” → your connection may be dropping

Optional (If your issue comes and goes)

On Windows

ping 8.8.8.8 -t

On Mac

ping 8.8.8.8

Let it run for about 1 minute, then press Ctrl + C to stop.
